Being at peace with yourself is so important. So much so that it can effect your health.
Love starts with you loving you.
I’ve heard it said many times and unfortunately I am sure I will hear it again. “I hate my body.” “My stupid body.” “Why can’t my stupid ________, (insert body part), work properly?”
Not only are the above comments made about ourselves but we say them out loud for others to hear. Often when others hear this they want to swoop in and try to “fix” something for that person. This is a natural response but who can truly fix this?
We go to drastic measures in order to “solve these problems. There’s liposuction, implants, removals, pharmaceutical drugs, insane diets, and the list goes on.
What about getting to the heart of the matter?
I was at this place at one time. How about you?
Sure I knew I was created without the same fingerprint as anyone else on this planet and so on. Wait, really? Do you believe that too? Huh? Said to self, “REALLY?” If I in fact believe this why is it so hard to get to the point of self acceptance?
The interesting thing that happened for me was that I had to lose my health to a large extent before I could completely break this thinking and truly love me for me. It has been a life long process. One of which I am sure is not over. Just when we think we’ve mastered it, this not enoughness, or too muchness, (yeah, I know those aren’t real words but I like them), the thoughts come when we are at our weakest.
The trick here is to master those thoughts. To be the woman who rises up and claims her place in this world with the grace of enoughness. For me this came with the recognition that I am not my own creation. There is One who knows me, loves me, and saw a reason to create ME of all people. With this in mind, oh my! That’s a lot of responsibility, isn’t it?
It sure is. That my friend is why who you are matters and what you do about it matters.
So where does this leave you?
I’m not going to list the possibilities of things where you feel less than or more than. We all know what it is for ourselves.
Taking your whole lifespan into account will this really matter?
Who you are is who you are. What were you put here to do and be?
