Life has a bit of an ebb and flow to it. All be it many times more “ebb” and less “flow.”
Today I’ve been informed that our winter sport wind up, curling, has been cancelled. This is due to the COVID-19 which has been showing up in Canada in the last week more and more.
It took me a few seasons to really enjoy the sport but this winter I have really looked forward to go out on the ice. To go there, interact with people and have some fun!
It’s interesting when a person starts to get accustomed to something things begin to change again. Some of these changes are big and others are smaller.
Someone said that the one thing that is certain in this life is change.
Change IS inevitable and it IS necessary because it pushes us out of our comfort zones into other places where we can have opportunity if you will to grow.
Personally I like to have comfort and predictability in all areas of life yet this is not the reality. As much as it would be nice, at the same time I’ve learned to be content that someone greater than myself is in charge.
There is a process.
Peace is essential.
Peace that passes ALL understanding because quite frankly I don’t have a lot of understanding about this process of COVID-19, what the future holds for our country and world.
What I understand today in regard to my family. I need peace that passes that as well.
I love the verse from Philippians 4:6 in the Bible. It says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” italics mine
Peace. It truly is one of the foundations to good health.
When we are not feeling at peace our anxiety levels rise.
In what area of your life would you like to be experiencing more peace?
